This book centres on a lifetime's exploration into the nature of darkness from former Episcopalian priest Barbara Brown Taylor. In it she challenges contemporary Christianity's avoidance of engagement with life's struggles and uncertainties. She shares her own encounters with darkness - both physically and mentally, which have yet drawn her into a more authentic encounter with God, and draws on the wisdom of Jung and John of the Cross. This is not a 'how to' book and there are no easy answers but it will challenge the reader to become more curious about their own darkness and how to make sense of it.
